Nicholas Adams is the Mary Conover Mellon professor in the history of architecture in Art Department. He has published in the field of Italian Renaissance architecture and urbanism as well as contemporary architecture. His most recent work is a history of the architectural firm of Skidmore Owings & Merrill published by Electa (Milan) and Phaidon (New York). He is currently writing a study of the Gothernburg Couort House (1934-1937) by the Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund. In addition to teaching at Vassar (since 1989) he has been a visiting professor in the graduate schools of architecture at UCLA, Columbia, and Harvard.
